Have any Questions
- What kind of experience do I need to become a car-hauling driver?
- We prefer drivers with prior auto-transport, but it’s not always required. A clean driving record, valid CDL, and willingness to learn are the most important. We provide guidance and training for drivers who are new to the industry.
- Do I need a CDL to work as a car hauler?
- Yes. A CDL Class A is required to operate a commercial car-hauling truck and trailer legally. Non-CDL positions may exist for smaller loads, but most of our freight requires CDL drivers.
- What equipment will I be driving?
- Drivers typically operate multi-car hauler trailers (3–9 car capacity) pulled by a Class 8 tractor(sometimes pickup trucks). We also have smaller rigs available for specific routes. All equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to meet FMCSA and DOT standards.
- How are drivers paid?
- We pay on a per-load or percentage basis, depending on the lane and type of haul. Settlements are processed weekly, and direct deposit is available. Drivers can expect competitive rates plus additional pay for specialized or long-distance runs.
- What is the typical schedule like for car-hauling drivers?
- Schedules vary based on lanes, but most drivers are home weekly or every few days, depending on region. Over-the-road (OTR) drivers may spend longer stretches away from home, while regional drivers often run shorter routes with more home time.
- What documents do I need to apply?
- You’ll need a valid CDL, medical card, and clean driving record (MVR). If you’re an owner-operator, you’ll also need truck and trailer registration, proof of insurance, and work authorization documents.
